resize2fs is use to resize an ext2 file system is there a command to resize an ext3 file system?

shockingly the command to resize an ext3 partition is resize2fs. The differences between ext2 and 3 are minimal make no difference for resizing.

The short hand is beginning to make more sense. I wonder if the 2fs has its origin from ext2 file system? Thanks for posting. I added another command to my /sbin vocabulary.
