I see some great learning going on!
Here are some tips:
1) Don't worry about making mistakes. Everyone is learning. The more emails you send and reply to, the more you will learn. Don't be reluctant to experiment and try things.
2) The dead.letter file is a mailbox file like mbox and uhistory. Use mail -f dead.letter to see messages that could not be delivered because the destination address was not an account on Opus.
3) For destination addresses on Opus just specifying the user name is sufficient. No need to add "@opus.cabrillo.edu". Separate multiple addresses with blanks.
4) Copy and paste with Putty uses a different convention than Windows.
To copy: select text using the mouse (it is put immediately on the clip board)
To paste: click the right mouse button.
5) ls /home/cis90 will list all the home directories for the CIS 90 class (plus a few extra directories like bin, answers and depot). These home directories are named using the usernames so its an easy way to see everyone's mail address.
6) cc: yourself to see what you sent
7) Keep using the forum to collaborate with each other.
