Is the umask for directories and files always put back to default after closing and then re-opening opus?

For this question ... you should do a little experiment and see what happens. Make a hypothesis, run one of more tests and let me know what you discover ... Doing that will help you understand umasks as well as see what the Bash login scripts are doing each time you log in - Rich
