Welcome Kyle!

I haven't tried VMware Fusion. How does VMware Fusion compare to VMware Server? Let us know too if you get any of the 192 VM's running on Fusion.

My setups at home are:

HP Notebook (2008-ish) - 4GB RAM
Vista Ultimate + VMware Server 2.0: (Win XP, many different Linux VMs)

Homebuilt (2007-ish) - 2GB RAM
Win 2003 + VMware server 1.08: (Win XP, Win 2003, many different Linux VMs) + MS Virtual Server 2005 R2 (many Linux and Win VMs)

Hi,
Tyler here.

I have several computers, but I primarily use my homebuilt desktop:
Core2Duo e4300, 4GB RAM w/Ubuntu

I'm going to try to make the time to put a windows box together so I can play with VMware Server. We use VMware Infrastructure at my work, which so far seems fairly similar to VMware Server.

As far as I know, VM's will still translate and run correctly, but I've noticed that Fusion can take up lots of RAM. For instance, running Ubuntu set to 512MB will take up about 700MB of my memory. I haven't tried running more than one VM at a time, so I'm not sure if the extra memory will be cumulative.

I'm working on getting my MBP partitioned so I can get Windows 7 (yay!) installed so I can run VMware Server directly - but Boot Camp seems to be throwing a fit at the moment.

Hey everyone,

I've got a home built PC running Slackware 12.2. I also have a couple laptops used my family and me that are running Windows.
