Press it. I find pressing the Ctrl then banging the D usually works, and it feels good! Being a literal person, I had to think about it also.

ctrl-d is the standard combination for EOF (end of file)

you can use it in the mail app to end the message
you can use it here to end it

and it is used just like ctrl+c for copy and ctrl+v for paste
