-o loop is specifying the use of a loopback for the mount. Usually we are mounting a partition to a directory in the UNIX file tree. If we want to mount a file (instead of a partition) that contains a complete filesystem (like a floppy image, CD ISO, or in this case myfs) we use a loopback mount.
